German violin by Johann Glass Leipzig 1909. Original label inside and branded on neck. Johann Glass worked as repairer to the Gewandhaus Symphony Orchestra, and made violins in the Cremonese Italian style after Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesu. This violin has a fine yellow/amber spirit varnish over Bosnian maple and Carpathian spruce. The violin is responsive and clear with good projection
