Handmade German cello made exclusively for Hammond Ashley Violins. The cello begins with fine Bosnian maple back and Carpathian spruce top. It is then expertly graduated top and back by a 3rd generation violin maker who also applies a special Antique method of thin German spirit varnish to give this an aged look and enhance the resonance. These are very responsive and full sounding instruments, the perfect entry into finer workmanship and European wood instruments
