Instructor BiographiesRicardo Flores, Violin/Viola
Ricardo B. Flores was born in the state of Washington, but has lived most of his life in the state of Texas. He has been playing the violin since the early years of elementary school. At the age of 12, while under the instruction of Eugene Purdue, he signed his first professional symphonic contract with the Midland-Odessa Symphony in Texas. At the University of North Texas he studied violin technique with Robert Davidovic. Continuing his music education, Mr. Flores studied violin at New Mexico State University with Joseph Sylvan and noteworthy conductor Mariana Gabbi. Ricardo has a long history as a symphonic performer, including the Amarillo Symphony, the El Paso Symphony, and the Tacoma Symphony among others. As a teacher, Ricardo focuses on classical violin study. Although he teaches all ages and levels, from beginning to advanced, preparation for entrance into colleges and conservatories is a primary goal. He treats each student individually and brings the student to their full potential in a nurturing and caring way. Mr. Flores does not use the Suzuki method, but adheres to the traditional European disciplines. All students study a full scale regimen, along with technical etudes and works from the standard repertoire. Great attention to posture and physical mechanics is always observed. Students are encouraged to attend master classes and participate in student recitals when appropriate. Additionally, students are treated to music theory lessons and music history as part of the course of study. For scheduling please call 425-392-3963 or email sales@hammondashley.com. |
