Instructor BiographiesKatherine Petrosyan, Piano
Ekaterina (Katherine) Petrosyan is an internationally acclaimed pianist who received her Bachelors of Music in piano performance at the Moscow State College of Music and later received her Master’s of Music in piano performance at the Maimonid State Academy of Classical Art in Russia. Katherine has received numerous honors in international piano competitions including piano festivals of Lithuania and Tel-Hai (Israel), including the Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Moscow. Katherine has studied with famed pianists including Nikolai Petrov and Victor Derevianko. Katherine has performed in concerts in Russia, Siberia, Armenia, Lithuania, Israel and the United States. She has performed in venues such as the Small Hall of Moscow, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Rachmaninov Hall of Moscow, the Music Hall of the Gnesin Russian Academy, the Music Hall Museum of Glinka, and the International Music Hall of Svetlanov in Moscow. In addition to her performing career, she has professionally accompanied solo instrumentalists and choirs. Katherine now resides in San Diego, currently accompanying for local institutions such as Point Loma Nazarene University, the University of San Diego, the University of California San Diego and Grossmont College. She also maintains a private piano studio and performs regularly with her violinist husband, Michael (Mikhail) Dvoskin.
